Note: As a delegate from the Mexican Anti-Imperialist League, Rivera was invited to Moscow to partake in the 10th anniversary celebration of The October Revolution. The flowing sea of red banners we see in this painting impressed him as he watched for hours the Red Army file through the historic Red Square.
