"Ave Pelicanus" - The Pelican family includes the Carmorant or Corvus Marinus.

Note: Lousiana once had many white pelicans, a magnificent animal shown it its state seal ... it is prototypical for humans to honor dead heroes and extinct species, after doing precious little to protect them ... note monetary and other state emblems ... eg bear (California), Indian head and buffalo (pennies).
