Exchange of Ideas in Words:

PET

Click for Explanations

PET relates to special
FRIENDLY feelings and to
CARESS and
CHERISH and even
LOVE.
The idea in "pet" also conveys ideas of
COMPANION or ESCORT. In general,
PETS tend to be small or
PETIT, a term from French related to
PETTY but that conveys different vibrations.
Some pets may be used and abused by
BESTIAL treatments or by becoming a
FACADE or MASCOT to hide or
MASK MERCENARY motives.
Regarding those who may be isolated to a
HERMETIC life as some
HERMAPHRODITES may live, a reminder from
HERMES who had a fat dog for a pet may
STIMULATE their interest in the many
MERCURIAL ways to invigorate the
SOUL or
PSYCHOLOGY, among the ways is
lovingly caring for a pet.
In Ukrainian and Spanish,
ideas in pet flow toward
DOG and PERSONALITY perhaps because
with their wagging
TALES
FIDELITY and
FIDUCIARY behavior, canine animals
STIMULATE the best elements of the
GENIUS or
SOUL of their
PATRONS when they are treated
AMICABLY and not as slaves.
Notably, patron in modern English became
MASTER, which may reflect a tendency to
view pets as objects and property. In any
case, those who can not have pets, may
resort to pet projects as substitute.

A nation with too many pets, some say,
is a nation of lonely people. Others say
that one measure of a civilization is
the care it shows toward human and non-human
animals. Note that the furor over vivisection
(cutting "in vivo") practices by medical
investigators was one of the early
stimuli for the birth of "Bio-Ethics".
