PANDORA
(Anesidora - The Spender of Gifts)

The Pandora's Box may be the matrix or uterus from which humanity arises.

Like Eve, Pandora was a tantalizing divine gift to man.
Created by Zeus, she was endowed by all Olympic gods and
given a box designed as a revenge against mankind for
receiving the sacred fire of knowledge stolen by Prometheus.

" ... AS THE PRICE OF FIRE
I WILL GIVE THEM AN EVIL
AND ALL MEN SHALL FONDLE THIS ...
THEIR EVIL ...
AND TAKE DELIGHT IN IT ...
AND GAVE HER THE NAME OF WOMAN
PANDORA
BECAUSE ALL THE GODS ...
HAD GIVEN HER EACH A GIFT
TO BE SORROW TO MEN
WHO EAT BREAD ... "

Hesiod, Works and Days 49-82 (Lattimore)

" ... WHEN THE THIRD ANGEL BLEW HIS TRUMPET
A GREAT STAR FLAMING LIKE A TORCH
DESCENDED FROM THE SKY ...
THE THIRD PART OF THE WATERS
TURNED TO WORMWOOD
GREAT NUMBERS OF MEN DIED ... "

St. John, Revelations, Apocalypse 8:10
(Wormwood in Ukrainian is Chornobyl)

We see ... exploding growth of human populations ...
Chornobyl ... Malnutrition ... Disease ... Environmental Degradation ...
The uterus, like a Pandora's Box, offers hope to the unborn ...
but among mounting concerns about genetic mutations, birth defects ... cancer ...
