Dr. Warkany graduated from the Medical School of the University of
Vienna. Over a period of years, the investigations of Dr. Warkany focused
on a host of anomalies - goiter, diabetes, dietary deficiencies, etc.
A great part of his research has centered on conditions affecting children,
primarily causes of mental retardation and congenital anomalies. Dr. Warkany
became a world authority on congenital malformations and a pioneer in the
field of Teratology. Dr. Warkany was also known for his etchings.
